This is very Sapporo miso-ramen. Needless to say, it is the renowned ramen-shop, “Keyaki”. This ramen has a lot of vegetables in it. The shop is small with only 10 seats, but the taste is top-class! The sweetness of the vegetables harmonizes with the miso body very well.
The shop is open until 4 o’clock in the morning! It is just the right shop after drinking in Sapporo. As it is popular, there is a queue all the time until mid-night. But it is worth joining the queue.

The owner used to work for the “Sumire”. Nowadays, it is said that this “Menya Saimi” has been more popular than the “Sumire”. The characteristic of the ramen of this shop is that ground fresh ginger is topped on the sliced roast pork. When this ground fresh ginger is mixed with the soup just before you start eating, the ramen will be completed in terms of its taste.
It becomes mellow with the balanced taste of the miso-ramen. It is worth eating, even if you wait for your turn in a long queue. If you are a ramen lover, it may be interesting to compare it with the one at “Sumire”. The closing time is a little earlier than other shops. So please be aware of it.

4. Menya Nanabee

This shop has come 1st for 4 years consecutively in the “Taberogu” which is the largest word of mouth site of food shops in Japan. They have variety in the menu such as the salt-taste, the miso-taste and the Nagoya chicken soy-sauce taste. It is convenient that you can choose your favourite taste.
Each one of them is popular, but the “Toripaitan ramen” which is synonymous with the “Menya Nanabee” is most popular. If you visit this shop for the first time, please try this one. The owner who used to be a Japanese styled food cook creates the delicate and rich soup. It is exquisite!

The “Ebisoba Ichigen” is the head shop but it has started some shops in the Kanto area and oversea. You can taste amazingly rich prawn taste. It is the taste just like Hokkaido with its abundant nature could create.
Depending on the ratio of the prawn soup stock and the pork-bone soup stock, they have 3 different soup tastes. They are named, “Sonomama (standard)”, “Hodohodo (lighter)” and “Ajiwai (rich)”. Hokkaido is proud of the popular ramen shop, the “Isono Kazuo”. What is unique is not only the name but also the opening hours. It opens at 22:00 and closes at 7:00 am. It is open only during the night. Despite of these unique opening hours, there is always a long queue in front of the shop at mid-night.

The best hit menu is “Genkinoderu miso-ramen (miso-ramen to cheer you up). It contains a whole gyoja-garlic, the top-class sliced roast pork and the scrambled-egg. It looks very original and gorgeous.
