The 10 Best Restaurants near Tokyo Sky Tree and Solamachi

The Tokyo Sky Tree was opened recently in 2012. There is much food to be enjoyed here and in the Solamachi Area on the ground. There is set lunch and dinner menus as well as take out items that can be enjoyed while viewing the Sky Tree. 1． Sky Restaurant 634

To the east is Tokyo Bay, to the south is Odaiba, to the north is Sumida River, and to the West is Mt. Fuji. This is the wonderful view you can enjoy from the highest restaurant in Japan. At 345 meters, Sky Restaurant serves the best of Japanese cuisine beginning with the vegetables of Edo but also different ingredients from different parts of Japan.

The food here is served in courses. However, the combination of pre-Edo and French cuisine is wonderful and each dishes is made with upmost care. The price begins at 4860 yen and may seem a bit high but the location is one that cannot be matched anywhere in Japan. Come enjoy the cuisine and view!

2． SKYTREE CAFE

SKYTREE CAFÉ is located on the 350th and 340th floors of the Tokyo Sky Tree. On the 350th floor is a standard café with coffee, tea on other drinks. On the 340th floor is a character café of the Tokyo Sky Tree characters “Tepenpen” and “Sorakara-chan”. Here you can enjoy desserts, sandwiches and other light meal items with these characters images included.

In particular the 340th floor is the only character café in the area and is popular for the way it presents they special characters through its dishes. The “Sora-chan Parfait” that expresses the sky with blue jello is 700 yen. The more traditional Japanese Houji tea jello with softcream, also know as “Tepenpen Sundai” is 750 yen.

Both are extremely cute and are especially popular for girls and children. Come and enjoy sweets that can only be enjoyed here.

3． Edomirakuchaya Solamachi-tei

On the 7th floor of the Tokyo Solamachi east side is where you will find this restaurant. Here you can enjoy you food in a theater. There are extra monitors so that you can fully enjoy the show even from the far seats.

Here you can enjoy rakugo produced by “Negishi Sanpeido”. The food also is truly from the Edo-period as it contains “Edo Sweet Miso”. You can enjoy this miso in different dishes such as the “Edo Miso Roast-cutlet on Rice” or “Miso-tsuke on rice”. Both the shows avalible and the food provided are of the highest quality allowing you to slip back into the Edo-period. Come enjoy Edo as you enjoy the new Tokyo Sky Tree!

4． Tonkatsu Shinjyuku Saboten

This restaurant is located on the west side of the 6th floor. This is a traditional specialty Tonkatsu shop. The creation of the combination of meat, oil, and the perfect flower is unexplainably wonderful. Mixing sesame in the sauce adds just the perfect accent.

The most popular and recommended menu item is the “Sky Tree Plate”. Because it is made for 2 to 3 people the price is higher than normal but this allows you to enjoy pork as well as 5 kind of vegetables. If you are not able to eat so much fried food you can choose menu items with roast beef or fish fillet. Feel free to come back for as many refills of cabbage as you could possibly want!

5． Edo Tokyo Sushisune

This restaurant is located on the 7th floor of the Tokyo Sky Tree. Here you can enjoy sushi individually or on a bed of rice. You can enjoy your food in the table area or in the stand up area. Stand up restaurants were popular pre-Edo period and this is where you can enjoy this experience.

There is also a menu item, “Special Mega Tendon (Treedon)”, limited to 20 per day. This dish resembles the Sky Tree itself. This is a dish for two with tepura sticking up twice the height of the bowl itself.

The tempura items piled high include 2 shrimp tempura, 1 garden eel tempura, and a mixed tempura with the vegetables of the season. You are sure to be filled by this dish. The price is 3900 with soup, chawanmushi, and pickled vegetables included. For those who wish to enjoy a more reasonable dish there are lunch menu items available beginning of 1380 yen and individual sushi available from 190 yen.

6． Uji Tea Gion Tsujiri

On the 6th floor of the Tokyo Solamachi is found “Gion Tsujiri”. This is a shop opened first in the entertainment sector of Kyoto, Gion. This is where you can get the true green tea parfait experience. You can enjoy other green tea sweets, soft creams, and drinks. However, the menu item to enjoy here is the “Tsujiri Tree Softcream”.

Surrounded a beautifully swirled, green tea soft serve ice-creamis bean paste and sticky dango balls and this is all arranged in a cone bowl. You can enjoy the beauty of sweet and bitter with a spoon shaped like the Tokyo Sky Tree. The taste is perfectly beautiful to match the view outside.

7． Tamahide Ichino

This shop was first opened in 1760 and is known for their dish of egg and chicken on rice. The main shop is in Ningyo-cho and this is a sister shop. However, there are menu items that are only available here. The seasoning is also slightly different here from the main shop. This one could be said to be bolder.

The popular menu item is the lunch menu called the “Refined Egg and Chicken on Rice”. Though the egg and chicken on rice is what this restaurant is known for, you can also enjoy other dishes such as the Karaage set (1700). Come by and enjoy!

8． Miyatake Sanuki Udon

Located on the 3rd floor within Tokyo Solamachi, this restaurant has been around since 1948.The udon is sent from Kagawa Prefecture, the best producer of udon in Japan. Because this udon is located in the food court and is self-serve, you do not have to wait long for your food. Despite this you can see them preparing the noodles in the back and can sense the perfection of the udon served here.

The popular menu item is the cold or hot regular udon to which you can add your choice of tempura. The price of the noodles is a reasonable 290 yen. The tempura available ranges from vegetables such as eggplant to sweet potato to egg and chicken so you can be sure to create a wonderful personalized “Tempura Udon”.

9． Tsuiji Gindako

This restaurant is also located in the food court on the 3rd floor. This is a nationwide chain. These balls with octopus on the inside are crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. You can get a set of 6 balls for 450 yen. You can also choose your mayonnaise between that which contains mustard and that which does not. Bite into the crisp to the juicy octopus inside.

The ingredients are made with a secret seasoning and the metal used to cook the balls is specialty treated to bake the Takoyaki to perfection. There is not much wait required till you receive your Takoyaki so stop by for a quick snack or light lunch!

10． Niku Soba Narihira

Here you can enjoy soba served with meat. The bonito flakes added are freshly shaved and the broth is created with the same freshness. The meat and green onion on top create the perfect soba. If you prefer you soba spicy you can choose the “Spicy Meat Soba”. Choose the dish that suits you liking.

You can also enjoy less traditional dishes such as “Duck Soup Soba” and “Wild-green, Mushroom, and Mountain Yam Soba”. You can also choose to enjoy soba tea to finish off your broth by adding it to your left over broth. It is available self-serve from the hotpot in the dining area.
