This sweets “Kininaru Ringo” that the whole apple is used, is one of the most popular items for souvenirs from Aomori. It is basically an apple pie – made of apples dipped in a syrup.
There are 2 types of apples – one is Kogyoku, which tastes a little sour, and the other is Fuji, which has a good balance of sourness and sweetness.
