In the back of the store, there is a bistro restaurant space with tables and seats.

Merzbau is an old coffee shop started in Showa 50 (1975), located close to Oyama Jinja [shrine] filled with green leaves. Iconic place in the area. Their specialties include coffee. Also, curry with rice, and “Breakfast curry set” is popular among the locals. Take your time over coffee after finishing your meal.

Various breakfast sets are on offer, such as “Morning set” with toast, and “Asa Hayashi Set (Hashed beef breakfast set)”. They also give a unique and juicy offer, “Asa Migi [right] Curry Set”. Curio is an English friendly coffee shop. Very popular among tourists from overseas. Their specialty, authentic espresso is brewed in the Seattle style with an espresso machine. The big machine on the counter looks cool. Their antique interiors and vintage cash register are also pretty. Everything looks nice and chic.

Breakfast set is available, of course. Good for those who stop in before going to work. “Breakfast sandwich” has scrambled eggs, cheese, and bacon on the inside. Their big breakfast will make you happy! “BBQ Pork Sandwich” is also superb. The pork cooked in tomato sauce makes a great match with onions.

At their spacious parking lots, cool looking motorcycles often come into people’s sight. The owner loves those kind of riding tools, and puts motor sport magazines at the shop.

“fluffy” is a famous coffee shop for its pancakes. Located at a super popular tourist attraction in Kanazawa, Higashi Chaya Machi. An appearance of the traditional Japanese house is well harmonized with the townscape. People can enjoy pancakes in a Japanese atmosphere at their tatami room in the second floor. Cups and plates handmade by the owner are very attractive.

Fresh made fluffy pancakes are fantastic. Their nice moist texture makes you addicted. Quailty simple fluffy pancake, “Butter Milk Pancakes”, and Houji-cha (roasted Japanese tea) flavor “Houji-cha Pancakes” are very popular. Yamasan Sushi is a sushi restaurant located in Oumi-cho Market, whose location allows them to serve fresh seafoods. They have counter seats, tables, and a relaxing zashiki (tatami mats) space. Easy to stop in while exploring around Kanazawa Station. People start coming early. You should come as early as possible.

Their best dish is “Kaisen-don (a bowl of rice topped with seafood sashimi)”. Huge with a variety of sashimi that are sticking out of the bowl! They also serve “Asa-don” for breakfast, which is a bit smaller but very fresh same as kaisen-don. Seafood includes tuna, squid, conger eel, amberjack, sweet shrimp, etc. Pour their special soy sauce and eat them up! For breakfast, the smaller portion of “Asa-don” should be enough.

Saijiki Ajimu is a Japanese cuisine restaurant renovated from a traditional storage house. Located in front of Higashi Honganji Betsuin [branch temple] facing a quiet street. Close enough to walk from Kanazawa Station. Take off your shoes when you get in. Equipped with Horigotatsu style counter seats (seat with a pit underneath), and table seats. Both will make you enjoy an elegant Japanese ambience.

Need to book for breakfast, which starts at 7:30am. Focusing on serving healthy meal, they start with their homemade special fresh veggie juice. Dishes include dashimaki tamago (Japanese rolled omlet), grilled fish, veggie pickles, miso soup, etc. Rice cooked in earthenware pot, and natto (fermented soybeans) are also high quality.To top it all off, they serve homemade yogurt after meal.
