Kenrokuen
When it comes to the best sightseeing spot in Kanazawa, many of you would think of “Kenrokuen”. This place is one of the top gardens in Japan created by the Maeda family. It has an area of 110,000 square kilometres with quite a few plants. It will entertain you with a lot of different views. In autumn, all the leaves change colours.

Gyokusenen
“Gyokusenen”, a stroll garden with a central pond, has a long history of 120 years. It was inspired by a picture drawn in the Nansou period of the encient China and for stones, all the rare stones were collected all around Japan. Other than that, there are quite a few historic buildings on the site.
Gyokusenen was a garden to enjoy the views, and it looks so beautiful especially in autumn. A combination of red autumn leaves and black buildings is great. The best season would be in late November, and you can actually see the beautiful rabbitear iris and this is quite rare in thisseason.

Teramachi Temples
“Teramachi Temples” are a group of temples in Teramachi and Nomachi. It was started in the Edo era to fight against a riot. There are a lot of temples such as “Myoryuji”, known as a temple of Ninja, “Shogetsuji” where youn can see the famous cherry blossoms, “Ryuenji” surrounded by rich nature – all of them are where you must visit.
The best season would be like in mid to late November and all those trees of maple and ginkgo are so beautiful! That makes a beautiful contrast of colours. Don’t miss it!

Chuo Park Dori
This spot is renowned for its beautiful autumn leaves. Chuo Park Dori, also known as America Kaede Dori, is to connect “Ishikawa Shikou Kinen Kouryu Kan” and “Shiinoki Geihinkan”, whicj is situated just 5 minutes away from Kenrokuen. This street itself is quite short, but because it is located near all the companies, you can see all the business men to wander around during lunch time.

Udatsuyama Sanrokujiin Gun
“Udatsu Sanrokujiin Gun” is situated from Kanazawa Higashi Chaya to Mt.Udatsu, and it is a group of 50 temples. As well as “Teramachi Temples”, this site was created to fight against a riot in the Edo era. Starting from a beautiful garden called “Shinrensha”, there are quite a few spots to see including “Gesshinji”.
Among those temples, “Saiyouji” has amazing maple trees which startchanging colours in late November. With a lot of slopes, you can see the picturesque views literally anywhere!

Taiyougaoka
“Taiyougaoka” is a renowned spot amon the locals. Although it is not too popular for tourists, all the Metasequois trees are sobeautiful in autumn. In case you are not familiar with this place, it will make you stopfor a while toenjoy the views.
The best season is not too long as it is between the mid to late November, but it is so nice to walk on a carpet of red leaves. They are illuminated at night, sp itcan be a dating spot as well!

Saikakurindo
“Saikakurindo”, connects Komagaeri Town and Kikusui Town, is a forest road. Traffic is not too bad, so it is a great spot for driving, or cycling! On a sunny day, you can overlook the cityscape as some part is going through the higher place than the top of Shishiku Kogen.
Although trees in summer are beautiful, yellow leaves in November are especially great to view. If you are interested in experiencing eich nature, this is the best spot – but just be careful as the road is quite narrow or even without guardrails.

Hakusan City is a city near Kanazawa City. In this city, there is a valley called “Tedori Kyoukoku” running for 8 km from Kamashouzu to Kawarayama with a cliff which has a height of 20-30 metres and it looksso dynamic. Especially the views from “Komon Bridge” and “Watagataki” are amazing.
Yellow leaves between the early and mid November are just breathtaking. You will be satisfied to look at this natural beauty of the valley.

Natadera
“Natadera”, established by a famous monk in 717, believes in the God of Hakusan, and a thousand-armed Kannon is enshrined in the cave. It used to be called “Iwayadera”, and was renamed as “Natadera” by Kazan Pope in the Heian era. 7 buildings are designated as the important cultural properties, one of them is as the National Site of Scenic Beauty. Although you might find some areas a bit hard to wander around, the views from a rocky mountain are great as!
The best season would be between the early and late November with more than 13 kinds of maple trees. A contrast of a strangely shaped rock and autumn leaves is something you won’t get too bored to look at.

“Aramata Valley”, located in mid stream of Osugi Tanigawa in Akase Town, Komatsu City, is designated as a scenic place of Kanou Hakkei. At the riverside, there are quite a few strangely shaped rocks which were created by a power of nature taking so long. Wandering around this area is just so great as there is a boardwalk.
Leaves of wild cherry trees, sawtooth oaks, and maple trees start changing colours in early November, and it becomes the best season in mid November.
