1. Shigenoi

Shigenoi is near Oyodo river in Kawaramachi, Miyazaki and has white sign and looks old. It started in 1966, It became famous as a restaurant that Shigeo Nagashima and Sadaharu Ou when they played in Giants, and it is now famous as kamaage udon.

The popular menu is kamaage udon of course. They have only kamaage udon for udon but they also have rice like inari sushi, so please try with udon!

2. Kamaage udon Togakushi honten

“Kamaage udon Togakushi honten” is located at where you go straight from west street Miyazaki station, cross Tachibanadori sanchome intersection, then go one street further from chuodori.

They have only kamaage udon, soba and rice like inari sushi. Not only regular kamaage udon, they have one with egg in it or radish in it. It is in downtown and opens until 2am, so you can eat as midnight snack. If you come to Miyazaki, please stop by!

3. Maruman yakitori honten

Miyazaki chicken is famous in Miyazaki. “Maruman yakitori hoten” is located at the corner where lots of restaurants are in front of chuodori that is west side of Miyazaki station. Most popular menu is “Momoyaki” that comes with soup and cucumber.

The price is changeable depends on the size of chicken they get on that day but the chicken that is on the plate is very tasty. They have other menu too. Please enjoy Miyazaki chicken!

4. Naochan

“Naochan” is opened in 1964 and located at 3 minutes from JR Nobeoka station by foot. Popular menu is Chicken namban. They use chicken that is a few days old and spread egg, that makes the chicken soft inside and crunchy outside.

They have original sauce, so they don’t have tartar sauce. They also have Torimomoyaki teishoku and Kushiyaki teishoku too. Please visit!

5. Irifune

Irifune has been opened for more than 100 years. It is a little difficult to go as it takes over 30 minutes by car from JR Takanabe station but they often appear on media and they have waiting room in other building.

“Unagidon” is the most popular menu. You can adjust the sauce since they don’t put sauce on rice. They also sell meal box to go, so it is good to buy to eat at hotel or for souvenir. If you come to Miyazaki, please visit!

It is located at 25 minutes from Miyazaki station by foot. “Myougaya” is where you can eat Miyazaki beef. They have tatami seats that you can relax. They have course for 5500 yen that you can eat lots of parts of Miyazaki beef.

Also they have 6600yen course that comes with Beef katsu. It is a little expensive as it is a restaurant of Miyazaki black beef but please enjoy good beef!

9. Isshinzushi Koyo

Lots of restaurants are located at downtown that is at west exit but Isshinzushi Koyo is a sushi restaurant that is located at east exit. It is a sushi restaurant that chief stands in front of you, so you may be curious the price.

For 10 sushi, it is 8640 yen and up. You can eat not only at counter but table seats and terrace too. They also have lettuce roll too. If you don’t mind spending money since you are on vacation, please visit!

10. Fruit Ohno

“Fruit Ohno” is located at the corner of Tachibananishi from downtown. It is a fruit restaurant. Fruit parfait that uses a lots of fruits is popular, especially mango parfait and strawberry parfait are more popular.

You can taste the sweetness of cream and taste of fruits. Half of the restaurant is a fruit store, so the restaurant is small but you may want to eat even you have to wait in line!
