Rikaen is the place to have Wagyu if you are a beef eater. All dishes are with top class Wagyu. They serve every single part of a cow, not only sirloin and rump. Bottom, legs, shoulder, and tongue: where there is meat they cut it and serve. You may be able to eat beef you’ve never had before.
Rikaen is not cheap but you get what you pay for. The quality is excellent. I would recommend to order a course if you’ve never had Yakiniku before. If it’s not good enough, it won’t be served. Simple. There are two rooms in the back: one is for preparing meat and one is for cooking. Everything is so professional.
Dipping sauce is important for Yakiniku lovers. Each restaurant has their own. Daitoen’s dipping sauce is one in millions. They are so tasty. One is Miso flavor and the other is soya sauce flavor.

Sakura’s meat comes directly from nearby farm called Moriyama. The meat from Moriyama farm is called “shimofuri – Marbled meat”. It contains various amount of intramuscular fat which makes it look like a marble. It’s one of the best kinds of beef. You gather around a charcoal grill and barbecue the meat in front of you. You see the fat becoming juicy and soft, and the meat will melt in your mouth!
All tables are in a private room. It is suitable for a family or a group. The interior is very authentic and nice.

Yaigen is a restaurant with a principle. They don’t go out to look for tasty beef. They raise cows and create tasty beef by themselves. They know exactly what their cows are eating and how they are looked after. The meat is with full of pride.
In their farm they don’t use ready-made feed. They use organic feed like wheat and sweet corns. It is very unusual that all staff knows exactly what they are feeding. This is such a relief for someone like me who always want to know everything about what goes into my mouth!
Once you step in, you will feel very welcomed. The service is excellent. No wonder it has been so popular for locals. Try their Sirloin Yakisuki. The beef you cook is already marinated and you dip the beef in whisked egg. It’s so yummy! There are half size menus for children on a la carte.

Yakiniku Hachihachi has 4 restaurants in Fukuoka. They are all very stylish and don’t look like Typical Yakiniku restaurant. Each restaurant is one big space with high ceiling. There is plenty of space between tables which makes you feel very comfortable.
Despite its looks, the price is surprisingly reasonable. All beef come from cows which are locally grown. There are some parts of meat you don’t see much as well. You can order a half size dish to try different kinds. Yakiniku Hachihachi also has good selection of a la carte menu and drinks. Good for both private and group outing!
Yakinku Hachi hachi’s tare sauce has a flavor of apple. It’s been rest for days to get all goodness out. It smells so nice and so tasty. Perfect for someone who doesn’t like spicy sauce!

9. Sensho

Sensho used to be a restaurant where you could have steak, Sukiyaki and Shabushabu. It is now a Yakiniku restaurant but you can also have Sukiyaki and Shabushabu as well. All beef come from local farms all over Kyushu.
They believe the flavor in beef is all tucked in red meat and the beef seems to have less fat than some other restaurants. Maybe that is why their beef is not greasy. The best dipping sauce is Orishi Ponzu, Vinegary Soya Sauce with grated white radish. There is some rich sauce as well but the beef is so tender and tasty that sometimes you just need a pinch of salt with it.
The restaurant is very stylish and popular for women. There are different types of course menu to choose from. Petite Zeitaku Course is highly recommended especially for people who haven’t got a big appetite but love to eat something delicious.

Their Tare sauce is something they are very proud of. It’s very organic and the ingredients are carefully chosen. It is of course homemade.
Their Kimuchi is also homemade. It took a long time to establish the current taste. A lot of research and trails have been done. The vegetables to be marinated are also carefully chosen. They are organic and no added flavor involved. The vegetables are served with beef to wrap beef, to be wrapped with beef and to be grilled with beef. Nothing is better than fresh ingredients!
