Ishigaki island has lots of nature but there are over 30 Yakiniku restaurant in this island. It is hard to choose the one you like, so today, we would like to introduce the restaurants that local people suggest. Please visit during your stay. You might find great Yakiniku.

1． Ishigaki island Kitauchi farm

They own their farm. They do all through making to selling by themselves. It usually takes 27 months for beef to go on a market but Kitauchi’s “premium beef takes 36 to 40 months. They use special food to feed ,and they make rice to feed.

The beef looks beautiful, also since the melting point is low, so when you put it in your mouth, it will melt. You can enjoy this beef with like rib, sirloin and salty tongue. They have set for one person, so it is fine even you go just by yourself.

2． Kingyu

The owner is the third generation of the family who started making Ishigaki beef. He’s been working on Ishigaki beef for long time. Not only rib or sirloin, they also serve limited shrimp and vegetables.

You may not eat limited menu such as special rib or tongue sometimes as they can’t make a lot. So if you see them on the menu, order them! Their dessert is also good such as pudding with lots of fruits. The restaurant is only 5 minutes walk from the terminal. It is easy to go.

3． Yakiniku senka Ishinagiya

They breed about 630 cows at their own farm that is over 32ha. Since they do all process by themselves, they serve safety beef. Ishigaki beef is a little expensive but they have special menu that Ishigaki beef is half price on every 29th as it considers as meat day.

Also their lunch is cheap, Ishigaki beef bowl is 900 yen or more, burger beef lunch is 1600 yen or more. They have counter seats, so it is fine for people who go alone. If you can’t make reservation or can’t make it by time, there is a related restaurant at the airport called “SKY CAFÉ Ishinagiya”.

4． Ishigaki gyu Maru

Since it opened in March 2009, lots of local people and tourist visit. You can’t imagine how colorful it is inside from the way it looks from outside.

Ask them what is their suggestion of the day and ask them how to cook, then enjoy eating! But if you really want to eat Ishigakigyu, order “Ishigaki sansyumori”. If they have “Ishigakigyu tongue”, you should order it too. They also have good rice. Please visit them!

5． Sumibi Yakiniku Takesan Tei

This restaurant uses only Ishigaki beef that they buy whole parts, so you can eat limited parts. Especially tongue. Most of them are made in USA, of course they can have only one tongue for one cow, so if you see it on the menu, you are lucky. Order it!

Their No.1 menu is Yakisyabu. The meat is thick but soft. If you cook just a little bit, you can taste the sweetness. If you want to eat many parts with cheap price, order “Tokusen set”. Their lunch is also cheap, especially every Monday and Thursday, they have burger beef lunch, every Wednesday, they have beef stew lunch for 1000 yen. They also have some to go menu.

6． Taishu Yakiniku Hormonesakaba Yamachan-no-heya

“Yamachan-no-heya” is a restaurant for broiled pieces of beef that is originally from Osaka. The red light at the entrance is the sign. When you think about Yakiniku in Ishigaki island, you might think about Ishigaki beef. But the beef is expensive. But if you want to eat Yakiniku, go this restaurant. It is cheap! And tasty!

The mood in the restaurant is good, also, they open later than other restaurants. Of course they have another parts such as fillet and sirloin. They have cold ramen and rice too. If you are still hungry, order them!

7． Sumibi Yakiniku Dai

“Sumibi Yakiniku Dai” is a place you can eat Ishigaki beef with good price. It looks gorgeous place. They have counter seats so you can enjoy even you go there alone. Since it opened in 2007, lots of local people and tourists have been visiting.

It’s ok to order parts by parts but if you order family set, you can eat lots of parts with good price. If you order lunch, Ishigaki beef curry lunch is 680 yen that includes salad and soup. Ishigaki beef steak is 2500 yen. It is worth try.

8． Yakiniku Chosyu

“Yakiniku Chosyu” was originally opened in Osaka but it moved to Ishigaki island because of the love for Ishigaki beef. It opened in February 2016, it already became popular. What we would like you to try is “ Hamidashi Loin”. You will be surprised with the size!

Also “Black hair cow beef’s tongue” is popular one. They cut tongue side to side. You won’t see this tongue at other restaurants that often. There is a shrine called “ Mo mo shrine”. It is a God of cow. Two cow stand next to each other, if you touch legs of left cow, it will through bad luck away. If you touch right, it will bring you good luck.

9． Toraichi seinikuten

This restaurant is owned by one who studied about meat at school. They also sell meat and they have lots of parts as they buy whole parts of cow. They cut meat only for amount of they use on that day.

Also it is cheap. And what made the restaurant famous is it looks like café. It doesn’t look like Yakiniku restaurant. Their lunch is also good and cheap. You should try it!

10． Sumibi Yakiniku Yamamoto

In Ishigaki island, this restaurant is very famous and popular. It is really hard to make reservation. You can eat good Ishigaki beef here. No matter what you order, they are all good.

What we suggest most is “Yaki Syabu”. Cook the beef just a little bit and wrap with slice of onion. It’s their No.1 menu. Also soft beef tongue is good too. They close when they sell all menu, so you should make reservation at 17:00 dot.
