Yokohama harbor is a boat shaped chestnut cake, and you can buy it at Café La Latona at Ariake Honkan. Yokohama Harbor has more than 60 years of history, and very famous among the locals and the tourists.
The cakes is wrapped in an original package designed by Ryohei Yanagihara, one of the most famous illustrators in Japan. This souvenir is a Castella cake filled with sweet chestnut paste marron, and the texture of the cake is very soft, but fluffy!

2. Hato Sable

Chiyono is one of the most famous grilled hormone (cow or pork entrails) shop in Atsugi, Kanagawa, and it is famous for its delicious original grilled shirokoro (balls of stuffed intestine).
Well, this food may sounds disgusting to us; as we don’t really have the culture of eating cow or pork entrails. But hey, when the entrails are fresh, flavored with great seasoning and grilled perfectly, they taste very good.
Give Chiyono’s original grilled shirokoro a shot when you’re in Kanagawa, and don’t forget to order a glass of beer and a bowl of rice as well! Don’t forget to buy some as souvenirs before you leave the town!

5. Sumiyoshi’s Kuzumochi

Kawasaki is famous for its delicious Kuzumochi, which is a type of mocha made from Kuzu flour. Kuzumochi is usually served cold, with Kinako powder and Kuromitsu. There are a lot of Kuzumochi shops in Kawasaki, but Sumiyoshi’s Kuzumochi is on another level!
Sumiyoshi’s kuzumochi has a very great texture, not too soft, but not too hard. The balance of kinako powder and kuromitsu is just perfect; not too sweet, but not too bland as well.
Sumiyoshi has a long history when it comes to Kuzumochi, and many people from all around Japan visit Kawasaki just to purchase Sumiyoshi’s Kuzumochi, so you should definitely visit the shop to try its amazing Kuzumochi!

6. Chikaramochiya

Chikaramochiya is a mochi shop in Kamakura, established since the Edo period. The shop sells Chikaramochi; a plain mochi wrapped in red bean (anko) paste, which tastes very sweet.
