The 10 Best Places to Eat in Uji, Kyoto, Japan

Byodoin Omotesando Chikurin is located near Byodoin hououdo and it serves traditional local Kyoto food. If you walk through bamboo forest in front of Byodoin hououdo, you will feel you are back to past.

There are table seats of course, and also they have private room that fits more than 40 people and smaller room for family. They serve food that uses lots of seasonal food and green tea food.

2. Hasegawa

Hasegawa is local Kyoto food restaurant that opened 50 years ago. You can eat fresh fish and seasonal food at this place. There are table seats and counter seats inside.

We suggest you to have Syunsai Gyozen which made with 8 plates that uses seasonal food. Also you can enjoy tempura or raw fish too. If you come to Uji, please stop by.

3. Tatsumiya

Tatsumiya is where you can enjoy green tea food. They started in 1840 as green tea store but they opened green tea restaurant in 1913. They have counter seats on the first floor, and public room and private room on the second and third floor.

The public room can have 80 people maximum. In private room, you can eat watching Uji river. They serve green tea food, traditional local Kyoto food. Please visit for family trip or anniversary.

4. Takumino yakata

6. Kyoryori Ujigawa

8. Kashikobo KAMANARIYA
