The 10 Best Breakfasts Restaurants You Must Eat in Kyoto, Japan

Kyoto is definitely one of the most popular destinations in Japan. This is the place where you always want to come back to. In this article, I’m going to introduce top 10 breakfast places in Kyoto.

1. Lami du Pain

Located 10 mins from Kitaoji station, this store serves fresh baked bread from morning. “Ishigama no Campagne” is my favorite.

On Saturday, Sunday and Holiday, they offer breakfast buffet. This is an all you can eat bread special from 8:00-11:00. It comes with a salad and a drink, too.

2. Iyemon Salon

Operated by a popular tea maker “Iyemon” , this is a restaurant where you can have traditional breakfast at just 2 mins from Karasuma Oike station.

“Iemon’s breakfast” comes with fish, tofu, small side dish, rice, miso soup, pickle. The price is ¥1026. They also serve lunch, dinner, and some sweets.

3. Fukumimi

This is a Hawaiian style pancake restaurant. From berry pancakes to Salmon and Avocado pancakes, their menu is all hawaiian style. Feeling too heavy? Don’t worry! They offer a half size of pancakes as well!

4. Miyako Yasai kamo

From 7:00 to 10:00, you can enjoy breakfast buffet with just 500 yen. They serve more than 30 kinds of fresh Kyoto vegetables which are carefully selected by “Vegetable sommelier”.

This restaurant is very popular so don’t try to visit at late time, you won’t be able to go inside when it’s busy!

5. Marie Belle

This is a Kyoto branch of the very famous chocolatier in NY city. NY times highly recommends this store! They serve sweets such as fondue and cheesecake, but they also serve breakfast such as Eggs Benedict.

6. Shinshin Do

This cafe has a retro vibe so if you are looking for a cozy cafe, this is the place. Their breakfast special starts from 700 yen. They serve bread such as toast and croissant, and also clam chowder. Enjoy your relaxing morning in Shinshin do!

7. Tofu Cafe Fujino

This is a Tofu store “Kyo Tofu Fujino” running cafe. Located just 2 mins from the famous Kitano tenmangu, it’s in a convenient location.

You’ll be surprised to see their great selection of Tofu dessert! Most of their menu is made of Tofu.

8. Espressanmente Illy

If you are looking for a good breakfast place near Kyoto station, this is the place. Italian company Illy runs this cafe, so you can have a good cup of coffee. Their Cappuccino is amazing!

9. INODA COFFEE

This is a well-known cafe in Kyoto area. Their breakfast comes with ham, scrambled eggs, salad, vegetables. croissant, and a drink. Very classical breakfast style.

They also offer cake set so it’s a good place to go for tea time as well.

10. Cafe Tabi Tabi

This is a small cafe inside of a hotel. It’s right in front of Yamazaki station so it’s very convenient to stop by.

Sometimes you have a hard time choosing a menu because there are so much to choose from? Well, this cafe offers not so much options, yet each dish is very delicious! They have a very cozy atmosphere.
