The 10 Best Hot Springs (Onsen) You Must Visit in Arashiyama, Kyoto

Tenzannoyu is located at 3 minutes from Arisugawa station by foot. The water comes from 1200m deep, it is good for relaxing.

The water has sodium and calcium salt that are said goot for beautiful skin, so when you get out of the bath, you feel your skin gets smooth. They also have foot bath and aerated water ( Every Saturday and Sunday only) so you can relax from the bottom of your body.

You have to pay extra but they have massage and beauty salon so how about trying it and hot spring?

Hanaikada is located at 5 minutes from Arashiyama station by foot. They have lots of day trip plans, so it is good for people who want to relax after sightseeing. Their lunch plan is 2500yen and up.

If you pay 650 yen more, you can use bath. If you choose traditional Japanese food, you can eat in private room so you can feel like you are traveling even you don’t stay the night.

From outside bath, you can see Togetsukyo and Ogurayama, so you can enjoy Kyoto. There are lots of types of bath. You can enjoy this hot spring no matter what age you are.

Eki no Ashiyu is foot bath that is in station. It is at platform so you can see train runs in front of you. They also have Kimono forest. They have about 600 of kimono. You will relax to make your foot warm and watch nice view.

You can spend slow time or you can use while you wait for the train. When you use Arashiyama station, please visit!

4. Fufunoyu

Fufunoyu is located at 1 minute from Arashiyama station by foot. It is famous for day trip bath and it opens until 10pm so it is easy to use for people who are busy.

They have outside bath and 2 kinds of sauna. It costs but they rent bath towel so you can come without carrying anything. How about relaxing after work sometimes?

Shofukaku is another brunch of Togetsutei. It is located at 15 minutes from Sagano arashiyama station by foot. You can enjoy day trip bath. You can eat yuba and yudofu and relax. You might forget time passing by and relax.

There might be people who think there aren’t many hot springs in Kyoto but Arashiyama has good place for hotspring.

They aren’t many hot spring but there are hotels that has day trip bath like Shofukaku. This place is good for people who want to enjoy bath and food.

Arashiyu is located at 1 minute from Arashiyama station by foot and that is opening soon. Arashiyu is a foot bath but they give foot massage for 30 minutes for 3500 yen.

It includes drink like green tea, Japanese sake sparkling and snack. You can see Katsura river and Togetsukyo in front of you. Reservation comes first so please check their website.

Of course it includes fee for bath. They have 2 types of bath “Kinoyu” and “Ishinoyu”. Tenryu temple and Togetsukyo is close from here so it is good to stop by. Please visit!
