Motono Inari Jinja
At “Motono Inari Jinja”, beautiful and mystic view can be seen. In Showa 30 (1955), this shrine was disenshrined from Taikodani Inari Shrine in Tsuwano-cho, Shimane prefecture by an omen of Byakko (spiritual white fox). The highlight of this shrine is an array of 123 Torii gates on a rocky hill with the beautiful sea view behind.
The contrast of the red Torii gates and the blue sea seen between the gates is overwhelming. The various Goriyaku (deity’s help) of this shrine including: Business Success, Large Haul, Maritime Safety, Better Fortune, Blesses Pregnancy, Traffic Safety, Good Match, Wealth and Happiness, Academic Achievement, and Wish Fulfillment. Oumi Jima
“Oumi Jima” is an island floating on the beautiful emerald green see. It is an iconic attraction located inside the Kitanagato Kaigan Quasi-National Park. The highlight of this island is its strangely shaped rocks of natural made cave tunnels and cliffs. We can say that the rocks standing here and there are artworks created by nature.

Chitei Ōkoku Mikawa Mu Valley
One of the highlights of sightseeing would be enjoying views as they are. However, it would be more fun when you travel with family or friends if there are some elements of entertainment. “Chitei Ōkoku Mikawa Mu Valley” is a theme park created by taking advantage of a former colliery. Akiyoshi-dō
Being surrounded by a rich natural environment, Yamaguchi has lots of beautiful natural picturesque places. “Akiyoshi-dō” is especially famous among them. It is a 8.9km (about 5 miles) limestone cave and the depth of its underground is 100m (about 300 feet).
The temperature of inside the cave is about 17℃ (about 62℉) all through the year, and there are many beautiful sculpture-like rocks made by nature. It has an easy pathway to walk slowly, and also a bit harder adventurous course (with fees) would be fun too. The paths are slippery, so you would definitely need proper shoes like sneakers. Hibiki Nada / Atsushima Tenbō Kōen
Among many places with beautiful sea views, “Hibiki Nada [open sea] / Atsuhima Tenbō Kōen [observatory park]” also has one of the greatest views of Yamaguchi. As its name implies, a beautiful blue horizon view of Hibiki Nada and Atsushima can be seen from the observatory. Atsuhima is a group of four islands that includes: Onjima, Menjima, Ryūgūjima, and Ishijima located at offshore of the open sea.

Beppu Benten Ike
What do you say when you are asked what color water is? The answer would normally be colorless. However, the color of the spring water of “Beppu Benten Ike [pond]” is beautiful cobalt blue. This pond is situated in the site of Beppu Itsukushima Jinja [shrine], and the beautiful water that keeps gushing out is ultimately sterile.It is designated as Japan’s one of the Best 100 Water, and free to drink. Kanmon Tunnel Jindō
At the edge of the most western prefecture of the Honshu Island, Yamaguchi, there is a strait called “Kanmon Kaikyō” that reaches from the Honshu Island to the Kyūshū Island.
The distance is about 760m (about 0.47miles). Just take a walk and you can easily reach to the Moji Port, Kyushu. It would be fun to enjoy one day trip at both Yamaguchi and Kyushu by walking through the Kanmon Tunnel.

Iwakuni Jo
Many people would want to see Japanese castles when they travel to Japan for sightseeing. The famous one is Himeji Castle or Ōsaka Castle, but in Yamguchi, there is a beautiful castle called “Iwakuni Jo [castle]”.

Shūnan Konbināto
