1. Sapporo Dome
The Sapporo Dome has been well known as the base for the baseball team, Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters and the football team, Consadole Sapporo. It is just like the Mecca for sports in Hokkaido. When the games are not on, the Dome Tour takes place to see the other interesting sights and activities in the ground.
You could watch the baseball game or the football games in the Dome, but the Dome Tour is a more precious experience. The date of the Dome Tour differs depending on the other events. So, please check it on their official HP before setting off.

2. Mt. Moiwa Observation Deck
Starting at Hakodate, Hokkaido is famous for some fantastic views in Japan. An especially recommended one is the Mt. Moiwa Observation Deck in Sapporo.
From there, you can see clear across the Sapporo city as well as the landscape (in daytime) and the night view of the Ishikari Bay. It is one of the most beautiful 3 night spots in Hokkaido. You can enjoy a delicious meal at the restaurant on the top of the mountain, viewing the terrific night view. You may want to stay there overnight!

3. Odori Park
The “Odori Park” is a very long shaped park from the east to the west in central Sapporo. Usually, it is a park full of nature where many people visit to relax. The biggest attraction is held there in winter. It is the winter pageant, the “Sapporo Snow Festival”.
In the severe winter in Hokkaido, the big scale snow statues and the visual image snow works are gathered there. There is no doubt that you will be hugely impressed with them. They have various events running along with the snow works. Please wrap yourself up well and enjoy this unique and fantastic snow festival.

4. Hitsujigaoka Observation Deck
Sapporo reminds us, Japanese people of the famous lines, “Boys, be ambitious!” from Dr. Clark. From there, you can see the vast Ishikari Plain and the huge meadow.
This place offers a good photo opportunity of the grand landscape as well as the one with Dr. Clark’s statue. The American educator, William Smith Clark was the first vice-principal of the Hokkaido University.

5. Chuo Fish Market and Jogai Market

Gourmet in Hokkaido is renowned. You can enjoy the fresh sea products as well as the fresh local vegetables. There are many shops where you can enjoy those fresh ingredients.
The “Jogai Market” houses the simple restaurants where you can enjoy a wonderful taste of foods for the cheap price in the same site of the Chuo Fish Market. They directly buy the fresh ingredients for their cooking from the Chuo Fish Market.
The Chuo Fish Market is the kitchen for the Sapporo citizens. They are surprisingly fresh, so you can experience the luxurious taste of the products. You will notice that the fresh sea products have a different texture.

6. Sapporo Beer Museum

The Sapporo Beer has a logo of a golden star. It is famous worldwide. The only beer museum in Japan has been run by the Sapporo Beer Company. Not only beer-lovers but also non-drinkers can enjoy the place.
You can learn the history of beer-making and can see the manufacturing process of beer. Are you thinking of tasting beer? Yes, of course you can taste some!

It is directly connected to the Sapporo station, so you can use your spare hours or unfortunate rainy day to visit there.
If you go there, the recommended hours are from early evening until night. You’ll never forget the illuminations of the Sapporo city from 160m above the ground.

9. Shiroi Koibito Park (White Lover Park)

There are few people who don’t know the chocolate, “white lovers”. They are popular as Hokkaido sweets and as souvenirs. The “White Lover Park “ is the chocolate factory which has been run by the Ishiya Co., Ltd. The beautiful appearance of the building looks like a castle in a fairy tale. The illumination at night is a fantasy on its own.
There are various exhibits related to chocolates. You can join the factory tour and can experience the making of cookies. It is a promise that you will have a wonderful time there.

Many visitors to Sapporo take photos of this clock tower in their background shot. You can walk there from the Sapporo station. You can’t go home without visiting it!
