Kanagawa prefecture which is next to Tokyo, has beaches, mountains, hot springs and many famous sightseeing spots. 1. Enoden Kamakura Kokomae Station
When you get off the station, you will be fascinated with the superb view of the sea right in front of you. This is the sightseeing spot “Kamakura Kokomae Station”. After you go up the hill next to the station, you will love the view of the ocean and the railroad crossing. This spot has been used in my soap dramas and Japanese mangas such as “Slam Dunk”.
When you keep going towards Fujisawa for about three minutes, you will get to the sightseeing tower where you will get an excellent view of the ocean. However, please be careful when you cross the road as there is a lot of traffic in this area. If you want to take a photo with a great view in Kanagawa, this is your spot!

2. Inamuragasaki Kaihin Koen

The next spot we would like to introduce is “Inamuragasaki Kaihin Koen”. On sunny days, you will get an excellent view of not only Mount Fuji but also the sunset towards the Enoshima area is absolutely amazing.
If you look down on the ocean from the tower in the park, you will get an excellent view of not only the ocean but the beautiful waves.

3. Okonomiyaki Tsukui

The okonomiyaki place “Tsukui” opened in 1971 and is one of the most traditional places for okonomiyaki. The old Japanese house type restaurant gives you a taste of the old Kamakura feeling.
You will also be enjoying your traditional Japanese soda “ramune” here. Your hot okonomiyaki will go great with the “ramune” and the “tsukuiten” (name of okonomiyaki) which is one of the most popular okonomiyakis on the menu. You have to try it!

4. Lake Ashi
You won’t be close but will get a beautiful view of Mount Fuji from “Ashinoko”. It is also famous for being the start and goal for the Tokyo-Hakone collegiate ekiden relay which takes places on New Year’s Day every year.
We would especially like to recommend you the tour boat “Yuransen”. You will get an excellent view of Lake Ashi on the boat and will love the relaxing time on the tour boat.

5. Hakone Shrine
The famous sightseeing spot in Hakone is “Hakone Shrine”. There are many famous shrines in Japan, but this shrine is famous for standing along the shores of Lake Ashi.
“Heiwa no Torii” is one of the best spots you can get in the country! This shrine is also famous for its mystical energy and people say it is filled with spiritual powers. Please visit when you go to Hakone as you might get lucky!

6. Hakkeijima Sea Paradise
If you are interested in finding a place to visit for children and adults, you might think of an aquarium. “Hakkeijima Sea Paradise” is close to Yokohama Port and there are many kinds of fish in the aquarium.
There is also a dolphin show which is very popular and we recommend you to check out the time/place before you visit. There is also a leisure land attached to the aquarium and both can definitely be enjoyed for the whole day!

7. Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse
The “Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse” has been here since the Meiji and Taisho eras. There is Building No.1 and No. 2 and there are many shops. Lovely lunches and dinners can be enjoyed here and there are cute little shops in the shopping area where special items can be bought.
There is also a spacious area where dance, art, and various concerts are enjoyed. At night, the “Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse” is lighted up and is recommended for couples!

8. Yokohama Chinatown
Yokohama is also famoust for its Chinatown. There are many Chinese restaruants which serve delicious dishes. There are posh restaurants to casusal Chinese places and it may even be difficult to decide which restaurant to eat at.
There are also all-you-can-eat restaraunts where you will be able to choose from a variety of dishes. Threre are also some shops where you can buy hot meat buns and you can wonder around Chinatown while enjyoing them!

9. Yokohama Cosmo World
“Yokohama Cosmo World” is an amusement park in Yokohama, Kanagawa. There are roller coasters and many other rides and it is especially famous of its Ferris wheel and the wonderful view from the top.
The famous Ferris wheel is lighted up at night and is absolutely beautiful. You may be surprised to know that there are one million light bulbs used! The rainbow colored lights are enjoyable for families and also couples.

10. Manyo Club

The “Manyo Club” is a huge hot spring facility. Once entered, there are yukata robes for rental and these are to be worn inside the facilities. There are hot springs, restaurants, a penny arcade, and many Japanese mangas for the guests to read. A whole day can be spent here without being bored.
The “Ashiyu” (foot bath) is especially recommended as it is on the roof top and the foot bath can be enjoyed while enjoying a wonderful view of far-away mountains and lighted up Cosmo World.
