Junkissa American is located in the centre of Minami. The cafe has been here since 1948, and the retro interior reminds you of the time between 1960’s and 1970’s. Once you get in, you would feel like you are somewhere new but nostalgic.
Breakfast menus are served until 11am, and you have 7 different choices such as hot sandwiches, toast, etc. Their best seller is the pancake set menu (950 yen), which has been here since the beginning.
It is cooked on their special copper pan. The butter melts into the soft pancake as you pour syrup, and your mouth will be filled with happiness. Come have a fantastic morning in this nostalgic Showa taste cafe.

Why don’t you start your morning with spicy curry and rice? Morning curry became popular because of Ichiro (famous baseball player). Spices will stimulate parasympathetic nerve system and help your body to be active.
When you need some energy to start the day, you can come here and have their curry! MINGUS opens at 7:30 am and they serve a soft boiled egg, miso soup and pickles with curry until 11 am. Great place to start a productive day!

Sarabeth’s is known as the queen of breakfast in New York. A lot of celebrities have breakfast at Sarabeth’s New York, and its only branch in Kansai is in Umeda.
The best seller is “Four Flower Juice” with four different fruit, and you can also enjoy eggs Benedict with Hollandaise sauce and poached eggs, soft Ricotta pancake, and other menus just like the ones in New York. Why don’t you start your day with New York style breakfast?

4. Yamamoto Coffee-kan New YC

Yamamoto Coffee-kan New YC is in Shin Umeda shokudo-gai near Umeda station. Inside is cozy and classic. It is open from 5:30 am to 11:00 pm so it is very convenient and you can enjoy drip coffee from fresh high-quality beans as this cafe is run by a coffee trading company.
You can have a breakfast menu till 10:00 am. They have a standard toast menu and a daily special, but omelette sandwiches are the most recommended. Their soft omelette made from 5 eggs are the starter of the trending egg sandwiches. Please try it out!

GARB MONAQUE is a two-story-building located across from “Umekita Hiroba” in GRAND FRONT OSAKA. They serve all-day dining and their breakfast (available until 10 am) is exquisite! You can choose from bread, focaccia or scone with a drink, and it is only 500 yen.
They also have 700 yen menu for weekdays and weekend specials. The restaurant is so spacious that you would forget that you are in the centre of Osaka. Great place to go when you want to have an elegant morning!

6. BOGART’S CAFE

Dojima has several restaurants and cafes by the river, and you can see retro buildings of Nakanoshima from here. BOGART’S CAFE is a popular cafe from Hawaii and this is their first branch in Japan.
You can have breakfast menus until 10 am. They have pancakes, bagels, eggs Benedict and BLT. It will come with a drink. They also have an acai bowl.
You can sit on the sofa on the terrace and enjoy the lovely view if Dojima-gawa (a river), and have a graceful morning here!

7. Hiraoka Coffee-ten

Hiraoka Coffee-ten first opened in 1921, and is known to be the oldest cafe in Kansai. They boil the home-roasted coffee beans and filter it with Tenjiku cotton.
100 doughnuts are made every morning, and this slightly sweet hand made doughnut goes well with the coffee they are proud of. Great place to go when you want a light breakfast. Have a nostalgic morning in this historic cafe!

8. Kotikaze

Kotikaze is run by “Fujikyu (a Japanese restaurant)” which has been on the Michelin Guide. It is mostly famous for shaved ice in summer time, but their breakfast is strongly recommended too!
They serve breakfast until 11 am. “Asagayu set,” which includes okayu (rice porridge), 6 different sides and tea, is 800 yen. “Mushi-pan (steamed bun) set,” which comes with a daily side and coffee/tea, is 600 yen.
The taste is guaranteed. They also have Japanese sweets menus from 10 am, so you can stay and enjoy chatting with dessert after breakfast.

Kitahorie area has many stylish cafes and shops. MONDIAL KAFFEE 328 serves authentic espresso made by Seattle-born-espresso machine, Stayer. The owner of this cafe won Coffeefest2015 in Chicago, so the quality of their coffee is guaranteed!
Breakfast menus are available until 11am, and you can have croissant or French toast with coffee or tea. You can change the set drink to latte with an extra charge. Their latte art is professional so please try latte if you come here!

10. Ginshari-ya Geko-tei

Traditional Japanese breakfast is rice with miso soup, grilled fish and a small side. Rice is always important in a Japanese meal, and Ginshari-ya Geko-tei is the restaurant established by a rice professional with 50-year experience.
The restaurant is located in Sakai and is 40 minutes drive from Nanba. This is a self-service restaurant. You carry a tray and pick up the sides you like.
They use a strong caloric force and cook rice quickly, and doing so, the flavor is stored well. Their rice is superb and the sides are delicious too. Come try the traditional Japanese breakfast here!
